| Ingénue Bebe Bennett has followed hip hottie boss Bradley Williams to his
new gig at the Ryan Modeling Agency. Bradley has found Bebe to be a
valuable assistant, but Bebe’s hoping that she will become valuable for him
as a companion. Bebe knows Bradley must wine and dine the beautiful agency
models, but is dismayed when he becomes particularly attached to one of
them, Suzie Wexford.
Now Suzie is dead. She is found naked, strangled with the Pucci scarf Bradley gave her. Bradley’s alibi for the time of the murder? He was out purchasing whipped cream (at Suzie’s request) something Bebe can’t fathom. How can a supermodel eat whipped cream desserts and still stay in tip top shape?
Now Bradley is in jail and appeals to Bebe to STAY OUT OF THE INVESTIGATION. But would she mind keeping all the modeling shoots on schedule “oh and find me a replacement for, uh Suzie?” Seeing this as an opportunity to show Bradley her loyalty to him personally as well as professionally, Bebe sets out to not only make the agency run smooth as well, whipped cream, but to also clear Bradley of the charges and finally
win his heart and soul.
Bebe plunges headlong into an investigation to catch a killer. Will Bradley break Bebe’s heart again or will she end up as the killer’s next victim?
Bebe, with her romantic notions of a modern young woman in 1960’s New York
City is an appealing character who freely admits her small-town naiveté, but
doesn’t let it get in the way of what she wants; she is even learning to use
it to her advantage at times. Bebe easily involves herself with people
playing for much higher stakes and easily charms everyone and usually
manages to come out unscathed - or so she thinks. Worldly Bradley is a good
foil to her, though his tender side starts to show through and the two begin
to work toward each other’s world to create their own. Bebe’s stewardess
roommate Darlene plays a supporting role as she sorts out her own romantic
woes while keeping Bebe in tip top form to steal Bradley’s heart.
Suspects abound in the cutthroat fashion industry and there are plenty of
red herrings along the way to keep readers guessing. Twist and Shout Murder is nother groovy entry into a very mod series that will win new fans and keep readers anxious for the next Bebe and Bradley adventure.
