Welcome to the Crime Scene, where we are happy to post news and messages from your favorite authors. We have some fun news this week!
From Kat and Larry Martin:
Everybody loves a ghost story. What if the story were
actually true? THE SILENT ROSE, my new contemporary
Romantic Suspense, is a sexy, ghostly tale based on an
incident that actually happened to my husband and me in
a house that was, we believe, truly haunted. If you
like suspense mixed with a healthy dose of romance, I
hope you'll try THE SILENT ROSE.
For a Grisham-like suspense with a different twist, how
about a Native American lawyer on Wall Street? When an
ancient document surfaces beneath the streets of New York,
Stephen Sounding Drum seizes the chance to help his people
and takes you on a non-stop ride through the tough world
of big-time Indian casino gambling. Look for SOUNDING DRUM,
a novel by Larry Jay Martin at your favorite bookstore.
Nancy Bartholomew has lots of good news:
DRAG STRIP, the sequel to MIRACLE STRIP, will be coming out in hardcover from
St. Martin's Press on Oct.1. Sierra Lavotini, the exotic dancer, amateur
sleuth, is back along with her wacky sidekicks, Fluffy the hairless
chihuahua, Raydean, the alien-hallucinating, gun-toting neighbor, and John
Nailor, the detective voted most likely to steam up any scene he enters.
MIRACLE STRIP will come out at the same time in paperback, so anyone who
hasn't met Sierra can catch up before they read DRAG STRIP.
As if that weren't enough....HARPER COLLINS bought my second series. YOUR
CHEATIN HEART, comes out in paper on 3/1/00, and introduces Maggie Reid,
beautician turned, single mother, turned country singer/amateur sleuth.
Maggie gets dragged into a murder investigation after her sorry excuse for a
husband, Vernell Spivey, dumps her for the nubile Dish Girl from his
satellite dish commercials. Vernell's brother, Jimmy, winds up dead on
Maggie's living room floor and all the clues lead back to Maggie. Too bad
the hunky cowboy she met at the club won't be of any help...he's the
investigating detective.
Throw in a rebellious teenaged daughter, a coonskin-cap-wearing accountant,
and the boys in Maggie's band, and you have quite an adventure.
