Another Life is a roller-coaster ride of thrills and chilling suspense. This nerve-shattering tale should come with the following warning label: Do not try and read this book during your lunch hour or you will be late returning to work! I speak from firsthand experience.

Sharon Moore is living a nightmare. Her abusive husband, Paul, has almost everyone convinced that he's perfect and that she's mentally unstable. Her young son, David, is the only reason Sharon has not walked/run away from Paul and his insanity.

However, when Sharon hears her husband talking to another woman, she realizes he intends to kill her and make it look like a suicide. Sharon knows that the only way Paul will ever leave her and David alone is if he believes they are dead, so she fakes their deaths by sending the family car over a cliff.

After moving to Seattle, Sharon visits the library and looks through the obituaries. She can't believe her luck when she finds a twelve-year-old death notice and picture for a woman who could have been her sister, Janice Young. As Janice, Sharon makes another life for herself and for David.

But just when she starts feeling safe, Sharon starts getting threatening phone calls. And people from Janice's past start showing up at her doorstep. Sharon can't be certain whether her husband is behind the threats or whether Janice's death was not an accident. Maybe someone thought they'd gotten rid of Janice Young and maybe they've decided that if at first you don't succeed, try, try again.

Another Life is a nail-biter and then some. I was scared to put this book down; every time I read another chapter something even worse happened to the heroine. The pace is so fast you feel winded by the middle of the book, but you can't put it down.

This is the kind of story that makes you oblivious to everything going on around you. So put a few hours aside, get out a pair of gloves to protect your nails, and let yourself get caught up in the whirlwind of tension and suspense that make Another Life such a thrilling read.
